Sweet Dreams

Not being able to sleep is one of those horrible things that effects you well past that night and leaves you feeling terrible the next day.  On the other hand when you get a good night sleep you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go.  The Body Shop Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow and Body Mist is something I stumbled across when I was having restless nights and I can honestly say I was shocked at how much it helped.

The spray contains Jujube date extract, Community Trade camomile and blended essential oils.  What I love is that it's not Lavender.  I know a lot of people love lavender scented things but personally it is not a scent that relaxes me, and not one that I particularly like, so finding a relaxing spray that doesn't contain it was great.

You can spray this on your bed linen or onto your body directly; I have only tried it sprayed onto the pillow and the top of the covers and this approach works well. The smell lasts throughout the night and movement while you're sleeping releases the scent.  It's not that I have ever had major issues with sleeping, but just regularly had those nights that you didn't sleep that well, or kept waking up.  When spraying this on my pillow before I went to bed I slept perfectly!  I started to use it when I had important exams and was finding it hard to switch off but have continued using it.

A bottle of this lasts a long time as you only use a few sprays before you go to bed which makes it great value at only £10.  There is a whole range of Deep Sleep products which I can't wait to try more of.  Check them out here, I would really recommend it to everyone, even if you don't have real problems with your sleep give it a go and see what it does for you.

The Body Shop currently has a buy 3 get 3 free offer on so what better time to pick up a few new products and try some new things.  As always I would love to hear your feedback and your thoughts.  Feel free to contact me via email (sabrianna@hotmail.co.uk), twitter (@sabriannablog) or just leave me a comment.  Thanks for reading.  Hope to see you back soon.

What's in my June 2012 Glossybox

Just a super quick post on what I received in my June box today.

Glossybox - Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush
Mememe Cosmetics - Sensuous Nail Gloss
Bm Beauty - Summer Warmth Bronzer
Caudalie - Eaux Frauches in Fleu De Vignette
Vichy - Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick

Pretty pleased with this months box, I feel it's got good samples of things I would like to try. Love that it's got some Vichy and Caudalie in there as these are two brands I have very limited experience with but I have enjoyed what I have tried. Haven't tried Bare Minerals Bronzer before so I will look forward to that. Although I am a nail polish addict I have never tried Mememe polishes so loving the opportunity to try this out, and as luck would have it I have just taken my manicure off....

I just also want to add about a recent experience with Glossybox Customer Care team.  Now I know that when I have read on Twitter or Facebook there are always people unsatisfied with one thing or another, and at times this has included customer care.  I had a fantastic experience with their team.  My email was replied to promptly and my problem sorted instantly.  I know it may sound like a trivial thing but I want to make it known how helpful they were and reassure anyone after any negative things they may have heard.

Thank you so much for reading (apologies for the Ipad quality photo). I hope this post was useful, I know I scour blogs to see what everyone else got, so leave me a link if you know of more posts I can check out.  Leave me a comment, drop me an email, or tweet me.

STOP!!!

I'm sure that the most common thing to think when you first feel a spot coming is stop!! Well despite luckily having skin that is pretty well behaved and not prone to breakouts Good Things Stop That Spot clearing gel recently served me very well!

Good Things is a brand that hasn't been around all that long (possibly now a toddler) but from my experience so far I would say it's one you will be hearing lots more about for a very long time.  It takes a gentle approach to skincare (but an effective one) that uses superfruit extract to achieve the results.  The gentleness of it makes it ideal for young skin, although I would say that any age could benefit.  If you have sensitive skin its fantastic as it's free from parabens, sodium laureth sulphate, animal ingredients and mineral oils.  Now I'm not going to make out that I know exactly what all of those are because I don't, but what I can say is they don't sound like natural ingredients and they definitely aren't needed in the product.  Anyway, moving on from the brand for now and  onto the star of this post.

Stop That Spot Clearing Gel is a lightwight gel that you dab onto the effected area to stop the spot in its tracks.  Winner of the Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards in 2011 I had high hopes.  It contains Acai which helps to sooth the skin and help with inflammation, and papaya which is rich in enzymes.  The gel is very lightweight and not too thick so a little goes a long way.

The smell is amazing!! It's super fruity and fits in well with what you expect after you read about the Good Things range.  I applied this as soon as a spot appeared and found that when I woke up the redness was significantly reduced and the spot had been stopped in its tracks and healed a lot quicker than normal.  I also applied this in the morning and found that it works really well under make-up.  Some products clog up after you put your foundation on but this one stayed perfect.  It has antibacterial properties which reassured me when applying my make-up that it would stop a full blown outbreak which lets face it, no body wants to deal with!  Often with spot creams and gels you find that once the spot has gone you can tell where it was as you have a bit of dryness, but with this I didn't find that the area was effected by dryness in the slightest.

Overall I think the product is great and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone that is looking for targeted spot relief.  The tube is 15ml and retails for £4.99.  It is available from Boots, Superdrug and Sainsburys.  I would urge you to head on over to the Good Things website and check out their products.  It can give you direct links to retailers and let you know more information about their brand and how they use superfuit extracts to help you make the most out of your skin.  I can't wait to try out more of their products.

Thank you so much for reading, I'd love to hear from any one of you about your experience with Good Things and if you've got any recommendations for other products I should try.  Leave me a comment, drop me an email, or tweet me.

Hot Cloth Cleanser

It's that all important first proper blog post. So what's it going to be (lets pretend the title and the probably visible images don't give it away)? something glamorous?? A brand new innovative product?? wonder make-up?? Not quite, but an essential none the less.  Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser has completely changed the way I cleanse and my face is reaping the benefits.

Described as a natural all-in-one cleanse, polish and skin smoothing cream, it contains a mix of ingredients to do everything a cleanser should.  It gives you a great fresh feeling after you use it, which often means I'm reaching for it in the morning to get that feeling, as well as at night to take my make-up off.  Orange, lavender, clary sage and rose geranium essential oils are most likely responsible for this feeling as they are included included and said to refresh and invigorate the skin.  As well as invigorating it contains oils to nourish and condition, these include sweet almond, cocoa butter and coconut.  They work.  I often suffer from dry skin and get that tight feeling after the use of some products, but not with this.  On top of those it contains panthenol and vitamins to condition your skin.

Ok so you know what's in it, and you know what they do, but here's the rest.

It's quite a thick consistency, think toothpaste, but it's perfect for the product.  It means you can get a good covering and it stays working where you put it rather than running down your face.  To use you massage onto your face in circular motions for about a minute.  No need to remove make up first this does it all.  Yes, even mascara.  To make sure its all removed I tend to rub a small amount on my eyelashes themselves.  I'm unsure if this is recommended by Soap and Glory themselves but as long as you're careful and and keep it away from your eye it works fantastically.  You then leave on the product for about a minute.  It comes with a muslin cloth which you then wet with warm water, ring out, and use to rub the product off your face.  Ever so gently exfoliating it leaves skin clear, cleansed and soft.

That's pretty much it.  I wish I could give some extra tip on how to make it work better for you or something that would make it better, but I just can't think of something that I dislike about this product.  I have never tried Liz Earle and I am very keen to do so, but if you are after a readily available product at a reasonable price which works fantastically I recommend it.  Pick it up from Boots or Soap and Glory

As always I would love to hear your feedback and your thoughts.  Feel free to contact me via email (sabrianna@hotmail.co.uk), twitter (@sabriannablog) or just leave me a comment.  Thanks for reading.  Hope to see you back soon.

A Quick Introduction

Hi!

Welcome to my first post on my brand new blog!  Now I must say, this is pretty scary!!  A good kind of scary, like looking at a blank page of bright white paper and not quite knowing where to start, but thinking of all the possibilities.

I thought I would do this post like a little question and answer session (with myself, hmmm should I worry?).  This way I can introduce myself to anyone reading this blog.

Q. Who are you?
   A. My name is Sabrina, I am a beauty and fashion lover!
Q. Why are you setting up this blog?
   A. In short, I love beauty and fashion and enjoy sharing this love with others.  I'm an avid reader of blogs with my main interest being beauty and fashion blogs, but this spreads further into general interior and lifestyle blogs too.  You can just tell when reading a blog when someone is passionate about what they're writing about and I enjoy sharing that with people.
Q. What sort of posts can I expect?
   A.  Mainly beauty related; so reviews, what I'm loving, tips etc.  Posts will also extend to fashion, interior and just general lifestyle.  All in all it will be varied with a beauty core.

So peeps that's pretty much my story.  There is probably loads I've missed but any questions or any desire to just say hi then feel free to contact me. I'd love hearing from anyone that has enjoyed anything I have to say or anyone that just fancies a chat.  Ways to contact me should be visible in the sidebar, but you can email me at sabrianna@hotmail.co.uk or get me on twitter @sabriannablog.

Hope to see you lovely people back soon ♥
